· Look at the above films on Eduardo Paolozzi and discuss the artist work.
homework:
look at the resource link 1 and write a few sentences about the artist. Google the artist (link 3) and select an image of the artists work related to machinery that you like, and then save the image on your phone.
Lesson 2:
Start to draw from the image that you have selected and saved in your phone. finish work for homework.
Homework:
Take photographs of mechanical parts from bicycles, motorbikes, cars, electrical circuits etc.. you can also get images from the internet and save them for the lesson.
Lesson 3:
start to draw from your photos and saved images and produce a visual research page in your sketch book.
Home work:
collect screws, nails, cables, string, corrugated card and any other objects that can be used for pressing in clay to get a negative relief in plaster.
Lesson 4:
produce 2 developmental ideas/ designs around 10cm x 10cm and then select the one you would like to produce in clay.
Consider the following:
Overlap/ repetition/ change scale/ rotate/ stretch shapes/ select a section
Lesson 5:
create a slab of clay and draw your design. Start to carve areas of the design and use the objects you collected to press them onto the clay. Build a 3 cm clay wall around the design.
Once the clay mold has been finished, prepare the plaster and then pour it into the clay mold.
Wait till the plaster is settled and harden and then take the clay mold of.
