Value is the lightness or darkness of tones or colors. White is the lightest value; black is the darkest. The value halfway between these extremes is called middle gray

Basic Photoshop mini project- learn to transform image to Black and white and posterise the image.

Lesson 4:
Take a photograph of the student and upload to Photoshop Elements
Go to enhance- convert to black and white
Go to Adjustments- then posterise and play with the LEVELS to get simple shapes
Go to enhance- Adjust lighting- play around with brightness/ contrast
Lesson 5 and 6:
print out posterised photo and use light box to trace and then shade using . Print it out A5 size or just simply place an A4 paper on the screen and trace around it.

Select a black and white image from a newspaper.
tear the image and glue in sketchbook leaving gaps.
You can do this exercise using pencil or paint.
join the images using line- you can twist and turn the line before joining the other side.
start to match the tone and continue it until you join the other side- you can change the tone in the middle of the process of joining with tone one piece to the other.
