Paratrooper opened in 1973 next to Comet, replacing Aerial Swing, which had operated in the spot since the early 1900s. It operated there until 2024, after which it was dismantled to allow for the expansion of the entrance to Water World. Paratrooper was out of operation for 2025, and is expected to return in 2026 next to Steel Dragon and with significant refurbishments.
Paratrooper consists of 10 two-passenger (sometimes three) gondolas connected by arms to the ride's center. The ride spins at a tilt, and rider gondolas are able to sway somewhat freely. Riders are restrained by a mechanism which shuts like a door in front of them.
