Whip was the second of two Whip rides to have operated at Waldameer. It opened in 1944 as part of a postwar expansion that also included Flying Scooter, Skyview Ferris Wheel, and Tumble Bug. It was the first ride to operate in the plot of land now home to Tilt-A-Whirl. It operated until the second Caterpillar was installed in its place, likely in 1948.
Whip rides consist of cars that seated two passengers each, which rotate around a track. Every time the car rounds a corner, it whips its riders around the corner, providing strong lateral forces.
