Ravine Flyer 3 opened at Waldameer in 2000, as the first steel coaster at the park, and the first coaster to bear the Ravine Flyer name in 62 years. It opened eight years before Ravine Flyer II, as the latter was still going through many legal battles at the time. A typical Ravine Flyer 3 cycle allows the train to traverse the track twice. The ride circles over a pond that was previously occupied by Bumper Boats, in Kiddieland at the base of the Ferris Wheel.
The train has six cars, each of which has one two-passenger row. Riders are restrained by a lap bar.
