What's new this week (June 15th)-

-Suzuki Practice Youtube Channel: check out the link on our "Suzuki Book" tab to access an amazing resource for practicing our Suzuki songs at home, created by the VCS orchestra teachers and the wonderful student musicians at VHS.

-VCS Orchestra Challenge to benefit FOODLINK- Check out the flyer below for details about how Victor Orchestra members can make a difference! The challenge is running from today- JUNE 15th.

-6th graders: visit the "7th Grade Orchestra" tab in the drop down menu for access to your Mark Wood concern music to listen to and start practicing! Make sure you have printed out the music and listened to all the songs! Watch the recorded zoom meeting where we met Ms. Knapp if you weren't able to join us live.

Message about what to practice as we move forward 4/20/20

#SongsofComfort...World famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, as well as many other musics (professionals, amateurs, students, adults, children etc...) have been turning to music for comfort and as a way to connect with each other during this time apart. Please let me know if you have found any other videos that have been helping you lately. Let's create a space here were we can gather all of these different songs of comfort for us all to share!

While we will miss being able to make music together, there is so much music making that you can do at home to keep your fingers moving, your ears listening and your minds ready for when we are able to be together again.

Please find more information for your specific orchestra in the drop down menu underneath the "orchestra" heading. Links for practicing our ensemble music can be found here. Please check back frequently, as practice assignments will be updated until we are able to be together again.

Students participating in SOLO FESTIVAL, please click on the "Solo Festival" link for more information. To hear recordings of your Suzuki book solos to practice with, please click the "Suzuki Book" link.

For additional help with Suzuki songs, please check out Mrs. Lowes "Primary Suzuki Strings" tabs! She is a great resource and reviewing and polishing previous songs is always important. Be sure your are continuing to LISTEN to all of your Suzuki songs!

Mrs. Judge and I will be checking emails regularly, so please feel free to reach out at any point with questions or concerns: spitalierel@victorschools.org and judgeg@victorschools.org. Record yourself as you practice and email a 3-5 minuet clip to us and we will reply with feedback for further practice.
