Saxophone Lessons
Welcome 5th Grade Saxophones!
On this page, you will be able to find your weekly assignments and other links to help you continue your progress while we are away from school.
Keep a routine: Keeping a consistent routine in anything we do will make improvements, this goes for not only practicing but how we practice too.
Week of June 1st
See the post by Ms. Moore located at the bottom of the page :-)
Week of May 25th -
This week is "practice in a costume or a funny location" photo challenge week. Get dressed up in a costume or find a cool/funny/unique place to practice your instrument. Have someone take a picture and send it to me via email to share the fun! Songs for each group are listed below. Practice, record and submit them on EEI for feedback. This will be our stopping point in the book for this year, nice work! Be sure to freshen up your band music, try out some of the fun tunes I have posted and have fun making music!
Week of May 18th -
Please prepare 49 on Essential elements, this is the sight reading challenge with syncopation.
Look at "The Entertainer" it uses the key of A Major as well as Syncopation - Practice the top line only, I will record the bottom line for you to play with :-)
Make sure to keep practicing the A Major scale!
Information:
Going forward, I won't post a lesson sheet, I will be using the Essential Elements website to post our examples and using this page to add any extra details that will be helpful for practicing during that week as well as any additional activities I want you to practice.
How can I submit my work?
Use the recording program on Essential Elements, it works great and I will be the only one that listenings to the recordings. Plus I can see when you upload anything!
Send a separate recording via E-Mail with you playing the examples, I will respond to your email with comments, just make sure you tell me which example you are preparing before you play!
If you are uncomfortable with recording and/or don't have access, send me an email on your lesson day telling me how many minutes you practices and what went well with your practicing that week and what could use improvement.
