Watch this video to learn about major and minor. A song sung in (harmonic) minor has a lowered 3rd note and 6th note. Major songs usually sound more cheerful and minor songs may sound more morose, or spooky. What major songs do you know? Can you name any songs in minor that you've heard before?
Mozart composed "Symphony #40" in 1788. It was one of only two symphonies that he composed using a minor key. Watch the top video to see an orchestra performing this famous piece. The second video starts with the classical melody and then morphs into a famous melody by Metallica. Pretty crazy!
