What Does the WHOLE Word of God Teach?
***What Does Romans 8:16 TRULY mean?
Here is Romans 8:16 from the KJV. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: ”
Does Romans 8:16 PROVE that the Holy Spirit is NOT a real person or a real being who is a Spirit just because the pronoun is “itself” instead of “Himself”?
NO! Absolutely NOT! For you see, In John , Jesus speaks of the Spirit of TRUTH as being a real PERSON by using the personal pronouns “he” and “Himself”.
“John 16:13. Howbeit when He, the Spirit of TRUTH, is come, He will GUIDE you into all TRUTH: for He shall not SPEAK of Himself; but whatsoever He shall HEAR, that He shall SPEAK: and He will SHOW you things to come.”
Simply ask yourself, can a so-called non person power GUIDE, SPEAK, HEAR, and SHOW Christians all TRUTH?
The Bible itself clearly teaches us that God DWELLS in us as Christians and God is NOT an it.

What Does “ITSELF” in ROMANS 8:16 TRULY Mean?
In other words, DOES ROMANS 8:16 PROVE That the HOLY SPIRIT is an IT?
I will answer this question with another question. In the SAME context does Romans 8:21 prove that a PERSON is NOT a PERSON?
Does Romans 8:21 prove that a PERSON is a non-person thing just because it is “grammatically correct” to use the NEUTER pronoun “ITSELF” to refer to a PERSON?
Please read Romans 8:19-21.
“For the earnest expectation of the CREATURE waits for the manifestation of the SONS of God.
Romans 8:20. For the CREATURE was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope,
Romans 8:21. Because the creature ITSELF also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”
Now is the child of God an “IT” or a PERSON? Obviously, a child of God is a PERSON and NOT an IT.
So then, why is a PERSON referred to using the Greek neuter pronoun “ITSELF”?
The same reason that the PERSON of the Holy Spirit is referred to using the Greek neuter pronoun “ITSELF”.
You see, the Greek word “auto” is gender neutral. And that means the pronoun MATCHES the gender of the noun in the Greek language.
And the Greek noun for spirit is gender-neutral. So, the translators chose to use the pronoun ITSELF as opposed to using the pronoun HIMSELF.
And in Romans 8:21, the Greek noun for the creature is FEMININE. So, the writer chose to use the Greek word “autE” which is the FEMININE form of the Greek word “autO” in Romans 8:16.
So then, since both Greek words are feminine in verse 21, why did the translators use the neuter pronoun ITSELF and not HERSELF when referring to a PERSON?
Why did they not translate verse 21 as THEIR SELVES knowing that this verse is speaking about PEOPLE and NOT THINGS?
It is because the translators were being HONEST to the Greek language. And ALWAYS being grammatically correct in the GREEK does NOT always make it correct, according to the CONTEXT in the English language.
In truth, BOTH verse 16 AND verse 21 could have just as easily been translated using the English word SAME.
For example, please read Romans 8:16.
Romans 8:16 using the English word SAME.
“The SAME Spirit bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Romans 8:21 using the English word SAME.
“Because the SAME creature also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”
And then, in Romans 8:27 in the SAME context of verse 16, the translators used the MALE pronoun “HE” referring to the Holy Spirit as being the one SEARCHING according to the WILL of God for the SAINTS which are all MALE gender nouns and the male gender verb, searching.
Romans 8:26,27.
“Likewise the Spirit also HELPS our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Romans 8:27. And HE that searches the hearts KNOWS what is the MIND of the Spirit because HE makes intercession for the saints according to the WILL of God.”
Again, the MAIN argument that is used by Christians, who teach that the Holy Spirit dwelling in us is NOT a PERSON, is the argument of grammatical correctness in the Greek language.
But we are NOT speaking Greek. We are speaking English.
And in the English language, everything that is NOT a person is gender-neutral and should be referred to with gender-neutral pronouns.
And in most cases that is what people do. But sometimes a baby in the womb of its mother is referred to using the pronoun “IT” when we all know that a baby is a PERSON.
Even Jesus was referred to as that Holy THING in the womb of the Virgin Mary and the angel Gabriel KNEW that the gender of the child would be a SON or a MALE child.
So, why did the translators use the words holy thing when they could have just as easily used the words holy one?
I have my own theory on that but no one knows for sure. We can only speculate. Was it an error?
Or were they just being grammatically correct in the GREEK language?
Were they BIAS in their translating? Only God knows for sure.
But in the case of Jesus being called that Holy THING, I myself believe that the Angel used those specific words, for us to RECALL the prophecies of God doing NEW THINGS and the former things are in the past, according to the prophecies in Isaiah 42:9, Isaiah 43:19, Isaiah 48:6.7, and Jeremiah 31:22.23, plus Numbers 16:29,30.
Luke 1:35.
“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, AND the power of the Highest (Or AND the power of the Holy Ghost, the HIGHEST Elohim) shall overshadow you: therefore, also that HOLY THING which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God.”
My point is that the creatures in Romans 8:21 are PEOPLE who are referred to with the pronoun ITSELF and that does NOT prove that a PERSON is NOT a PERSON just because of grammatical correctness to the GREEK language.
And when you read the CONTEXT of Romans 8:16 then anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear can plainly see that the Holy Spirit is, indeed, a PERSON.
Please read Romans 8:5,10,11,14-16,21,23, 26-28.
“Romans 8:5. For they that are after the flesh do mind the THINGS of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the THINGS of the Spirit (How can a non-person THING have THINGS)...
...Romans 8:10. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is LIFE because of righteousness (How can a non-person thing that is not living have LIFE?
And not just life but QUICKENING LIFE, according to Romans 8:11)
Romans 8:11. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead DWELL in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that DWELLS in you...
...Romans 8:14. For as many as are LED by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (How can a non-person thing LEAD people?)...
...Romans 8:15. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; (Speaking of an evil spirit which is a person or being) but YOU have received the Spirit (Which is a person of BEING, as in, a portion of the divine being, Almighty God the Father who has given us an EARNEST of his Spirit) of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Romans 8:16. The Spirit itself BEARS WITNESS with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (How can a non-person thing BEAR WITNESS to our spirits that we are the children of God?
So personally, I believe that this verse SHOULD read, “The Spirit HIMSELF bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God”)...
...Romans 8:21. Because the CREATURE ITSELF (Again, when a PERSON is referred to in the neuter gender, then the pronoun ITSELF does NOT prove that a PERSON is NOT a PERSON.
And I personally believe that this verse should have ALSO used the male pronoun HIMSELF as well as verse 16.
So, to ME, Romans 8:16 can NOT be used to try and prove that the Holy Spirit is NOT a PERSON.
Otherwise, you would have to be CONSISTENT in your interpretation of the Scriptures, and also insist that a PERSON is NOT a PERSON here in the SAME context of verse 16.
In other words, if one insists that verse 16 proves that the Holy Spirit is not a person, then they must also INSIST that we, the creatures in Jesus Christ who long for our immortal bodies, are NOT PERSONS or a person as well) also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God…
...Romans 8:23. And not only they but ourselves also, which have the FIRSTFRUITS of the Spirit, (Speaking of the DEPOSIT of the EARNEST of eternal LIFE, of the LIFE giving quickening Spirit dwelling in us. We are the WORKMANSHIP of Almighty God WHO is SPIRIT.
And God has given a small PORTION of Himself to dwell in us) even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. (Again, we are given the earnest or a PORTION of God UNTIL the day of the REDEMPTION or the full POSSESSION that was purchased by the blood of Jesus, according to Ephesians 1:14.
And then, we will receive the FULL END of our salvation, namely the divine nature of IMMORTALITY the redemption of our mortal body in exchange for an immortal body)
...Romans 8:26. Likewise, the Spirit also HELPS our infirmities: (How can a non-person thing even KNOW what our weaknesses are, let alone HELP us with our weaknesses?) for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself MAKES INTERCESSION for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (In other words, some Biblical Unitarian Christians INSIST that we believe that a NON-PERSON thing that they call God’s NATURE.
They argue that God’s NATURE searches the entire world to find Christians who are willing to pray in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit gives us the UTTERANCE.
For those of you who do not understand, praying in the Holy Spirit is praying in other tongues to make intercession for others.
It is God dwelling in us who is HELPING our weakness of NOT knowing WHAT to pray for as we OUGHT to pray according to the WILL of the Father.
What utter nonsense is that argument that God’s NATURE searches our hearts.
To me, it is God Himself dwelling in us who makes intercession for people all over the world.
In other words, God knows who needs prayer when we do not know.
For example, I did not even know someone needed prayer, UNTIL the Holy Spirit woke me up in the middle of the night to pray for them!
How can a NON-PERSON thing KNOW WHO to make intercession for, WHEN to make intercession, and WHAT the need is that the intercession is being made for?
To me, it borderlines on stupidity of God’s word to insist that the Holy Spirit dwelling in Believers is NOT a PERSON or being having INTELLIGENCE.
And a NON-PERSON thing does NOT have intelligence, compassion, love, foreknowledge, and knowledge which the Holy Spirit dwelling in believers has)
Romans 27. And He that SEARCHES the HEARTS KNOWS what is the MIND of the Spirit, BECAUSE He MAKES INTERCESSION for the saints according to the WILL of God. (How can a NON-PERSON thing SEARCH the HEARTS of the saints to know their needs?
And how can a non-person thing KNOW what is in the MIND of Almighty God?
The only way the Holy Spirit can KNOW the MIND of Almighty God is if the Holy Spirit is a PART of Almighty God HIMSELF just like the Scriptures teach us.
The Father is still CONNECTED in some way to the PART of the EARNEST of the gift of His Holy Spirit dwelling in us)
Romans 8:28. And we know that all things work together for good (Or we know that all these things that the Holy Spirit does in us, through us, and with our co-operation of obedience to make INTERCESSION.
And this occurs as the Spirit WILLS or as the Holy Spirit gives to us the UTTERANCE in other tongues, works to the GOOD of those that the Holy Spirit is making intercession WITH us) to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Again, God is a SPIRIT. When the Bible says it is as the Spirit WILLS, that means as God WILLS.
So, if God calls you in the middle of the night or at any time of the day, KNOW that it is NOT a waste of time to pray in other tongues because the Spirit KNOWS who and what to pray for according to God’s will.
Think of it this way, if a person stretched out his arm and tapped you on the shoulder to get your attention, would you call that person an it, just because he used his arm rather than his foot, his hand, of his voice?
God is a PERSON and God is a SPIRIT. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is Almighty God Himself.

But for now, let us take a look at John 14:21 which is another verse that the translators use the neuter pronoun “IT” to refer to a PERSON.
John 14:21.
“He that has my commandments, and (HE) keeps them, He it is that LOVES me: (Now, a non-person “IT” can NOT LOVE Jesus and the Father or anyone else for that matter. A NON-PERSON thing can NOT LOVE. Yet the translators use the gender-neutral pronoun “IT” to refer to a PERSON.
So again, just because a gender-neutral pronoun, verb, or conjunction is used that does NOT mean that a PERSON is NOT a PERSON) and He that LOVES me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
Now I agree that it would sound odd to say “... he he that loves me…” because we do not use two pronouns together.
But the translators could have used he himself that loves me. So again, the translators were being grammatically correct to the GREEK language, but NOT being grammatically correct to the ENGLISH language
The LITERAL translation says “...that ONE is the ONE loving me…” In other words, the ONE keeping the commandments of Jesus is the ONE that loves Jesus.
You can see in the literal translation that all the nouns and pronouns in the Greek are MALE gender, but YET the translators of the King James Version chose to use the pronoun “IT” to refer back to the PERSON who keeps the commandments of Jesus by saying ...he IT THAT loves me... Is this a translator error?
No. Sometimes, even in the English language, we might say, “it is THAT person THAT I saw stealing THAT woman’s purse.” It is the man that I saw, and a person is not an it.
Now it may not be grammatically correct to talk like that, but that is the way common uneducated people talk.
And we have to remember that almost all of the disciples of Jesus were uneducated common men who spoke the TRADE language of Koine Greek that was not, necessarily, their own native language.
And while it is true that God inspired the disciples of Jesus to write down what they learned from Jesus and what they witnessed, I personally do not believe that each and every single Greek word was inspired by God.
Most of the New Testament were letters that the disciples sent to different churches that circulated back and forth between the congregations of Christian.
Those letters were copied by hand and many of the copied manuscripts have some minor variances in the use of different Greek words.
So, to me, to nitpick over being grammatically correct regarding the use of pronoun gender is straining at the gnat, so to speak.
It is the CONTEXT that determines the gender of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus calls God the FATHER because Jesus understood God to be a male, even though the Spirit in GREEK is female.
But in the English language, we understand that God is a PERSON.
So, to us, the word Spirit is NOT a gender-neutral noun in the ENGLISH language unless the noun is referring to a NON-PERSON. And Almighty God is NOT a NON-PERSON.
So, since the disciples wrote the New Testament in the TRADE language that was the common language of that day in that part of the world, they had only one Greek word to use for Spirit.
So then, the question becomes, did the disciples see God as an “IT” or as a “HE”?
If they saw God as an “IT”, then it would be wrong for them to have used male gender nouns and names referring to God who they also HAD to say is Spirit.
For you see, that is what Jesus himself taught them as to WHAT God is. God is a Spirit. But WHAT God is, does NOT demand that God is NOT a person.
We use the word person to describe the WHOLE BEING of Almighty God the Father. The whole being of God is LIFE and the SOURCE of all life.
And the word BREATH is one way to describe what life is. And the Hebrew word for BREATH is “ruah” which is also translated as SPIRIT.
There are so many verses in the Bible that prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Holy Spirit dwelling in us is the very PERSON of Almighty God the Father, whom the Father PORTIONED out of Himself to dwell in each and every believer.
The Holy Spirit makes DECISIONS and impersonal things like God’s nature and God’s power can NOT make decisions.
Please read 1 Corinthians 12:11.
“But all these works that ONE and the SELF-SAME SPIRIT, dividing to every man severally as He WILL.”
A NON-PERSON thing does NOT have a WILL to make decisions.
But the Holy Spirit PROPHESIES or GIVES prophecies to believers to prophesy.
Acts 21:11.
“And when he has come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus SAID the Holy Ghost, (Or thus PROPHESIED the Holy Spirit) So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owns this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.”
And only Almighty God the Father is the giver of PROPHECY.
So either the Holy Spirit dwelling in us is the self-same Eternal Spirit of Almighty God the Father, or he is a THIRD PERSON of God which we know is NOT the truth because of many other verses.

That study will give you all of the verses of Scripture that prove that the Holy Spirit is NOT some THIRD person of a so-called Trinity Godhead?
Mark 3:25.
“And if a house (Or if a FAMILY or household of PEOPLE) be divided against ITSELF, that house (Or household of people) cannot stand.”
Luke 11:17-20.
“But he, KNOWING their THOUGHTS, (By the eternal Spirit dwelling in him) said unto them, Every kingdom divided against ITSELF is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls. (But we all know that Jesus is talking about PEOPLE and NOT things.
But yet, it is grammatically correct even in English to say that a household of people divided against ITSELF will fall)
Luke 11:18. If Satan also is divided against HIMSELF, (Referring to a person or an angelic spirit being as the prince of his kingdom of evil spirit beings) how shall his kingdom stand? Because you say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
Luke 11:19. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, shall they be your judges.
Luke 11:20. But if I with the finger of God (Or if I with only a tiny portion of God’s Spirit as small as a finger) cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Yes, we call our finger an IT, but our finer is a PART of our own SELF-SAME BEING.
But unlike a part of the human anatomy, the Spirit in the MIND or has a MIND and a WILL, which is God’s MIND and WILL.
Ephesians 4:16.
“From whom the whole body (Speaking of BELIEVERS whole, as in, altogether, make up the BODY of Jesus Christ, the church or the ecclesia, the called-out ones) fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body (Or BELIEVERS) unto the edifying of ITSELF in love.”
Again, the use of a gender-neutral pronoun like ITSELF does NOT prove that what the gender-neutral pronoun is referring to is a NON-PERSON.
A believer in Jesus, a member of the BODY of Jesus Christ is NOT a NON-PERSON thing.
So then, all the neuter pronouns referring to the Holy Spirit do NOT prove that the Holy Spirit dwelling in believers is NOT a person.
The Holy Spirit is a portion of the very BEING of the eternal God who can be in more than one place at one time. Only a person can FORBID people. God’s NATURE cannot forbid people.
Acts 16:6,7.
“Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia and were FORBIDDEN of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
Acts 16:7. After they came to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit SUFFERED them NOT.”
In other words, the Holy Spirit would not let them be, so to speak. The Holy Spirit would not permit them to go because He had other plans for them.
Again, the Holy Spirit is NOT a non person just because He is sometimes called by the pronouns “it” and “itself”.
Acts 5:30-32.
“The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom YOU SLEW and hanged on a tree.
Acts 5:31. Him has God exalted with (Or more correctly translated, Him has God exalted to be at) His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 5:32. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is ALSO the Holy Ghost, (In other words, we know who you are that cried out and said CRUCIFY him and so DOES the Holy Spirit) whom God has given to them that obey Him.”
So, the SAME Holy Spirit BEING who now dwells in believers watched over His own word of prophecy from heaven to PERFORM it.
And God did that through the working of His OWN BEING of Spirit.
And God Himself SAW WHO the Jews were that cried out saying crucify him.
And a non-person thing like nature or power cannot do what the Holy Spirit does.
1 Timothy 4:1,2.
“Now the Spirit SPEAKS expressly, (KNOWING the future) that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Timothy 4:2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;”
And the non-person so-called nature of God cannot SPEAK or know the future.
The Bible point-blank STATES as a FACT with no interpretation needed that the Holy Spirit dwelling in believers is GOD.
Ephesians 4:6.
“ One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
1 John 4:13-16.
“Hereby KNOW we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, BECAUSE He has GIVEN us of His Spirit. (So. anyone who says that God can NOT DIVIDE himself up and give us portions of Himself is basically calling God a liar.
Or at the least they are calling the Apostle John a liar.
So, I IMPLORE all Biblical Unitarians to consider what you are actually saying by insisting that the Holy Spirit in us is NOT a PERSON, but rather the NATURE of God in us.
I implore ALL Unitarian Christians to STOP teaching that the Holy Spirit in us is NOT a PERSON.
When the Bible says God has given us His Spirit we are to understand that a PORTION of God Himself dwells in us to lead and guide us into all truth)
1 John 4:14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
1 John 4:15. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. (Almighty God the Father DWELLS in you, if so be that you BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God.
Know you not that you are the temple of God? Is God just a POWER or a force?
NO! So, stop lying against the Scriptures to wrongly teach that the Holy Spirit is just a force, a power, or the NATURE that is used by God.
The portion of God’s Spirit dwelling in us is God. Not because I say so, but because the Scriptures plainly state that God dwells in him who BELIEVES that Jesus is the Son of God.
You are the temple of GOD and not some impersonal force such as God’s NATURE or POWER)
1 John 4:16. And we have known and believed the love that God has toward us. God is love, and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.”
Psalm 139:7,8.
“Whither shall I go from your Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from YOUR presence?
Psalm 139:8. If I ascend up into heaven, YOU are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, YOU are there.”
WHY? Why is God’s presence in HELL? Because it was Almighty God the Father Himself DWELLING in Jesus. And Almighty God the Father is a PERSON.
This Psalm is a prophecy of Jesus who descended into hell but God did not LEAVE his soul in hell.
Nor did God’s Holy Spirit leave the Spirit and soul of Jesus while he was in hell for three days and three nights.
1 John 4:12.
“No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us.”
1 Corinthians 3:16,17.
“Know you not that you ARE the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:17. If any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you ARE.”
I do not know how the Scriptures could get any plainer or clearer than these verses.
And any Christians reading this study in God's word who still yet insists that the Holy Spirit is NOT a person is actually saying that God Himself is NOT a person of literal being.
So you are worshiping a THING, in my opinion. You are treading on thin ice, so to speak, and on the brink of BLASPHEMING the Holy Spirit.
Again, this is just my opinion.
And for WHAT? Do you call the Holy Spirit the power used by God just to prove that the Holy Spirit is NOT the THIRD PERSON of a so-called Godhead Trinity God?
It can easily be proven that the Holy Spirit is NOT some THIRD person of the Trinity WITHOUT WRONGLY claiming that the Holy Spirit dwelling in us is NOT a PERSON or being but only a force, power, or nature of God.
Here are two more verses that are used by those who claim that just because the Holy Spirit is referred to by the neuter pronoun “IT” in the Bible. To them, the Holy Spirit being referred to by the pronoun “it” supposedly proves that the Holy Spirit is not a person.
That is like trying to say a CAR is a person, just because some people refer to their car as a “SHE” saying, SHE is my baby!
1 Peter 1:11.
“Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify when it TESTIFIED beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow.”
This verse is not used very much anymore to try and prove that the Holy Spirit is not a person.
For you see, those who used to use it have discovered that the word “IT” is NOT in GREEK TEXT.
Also, every Christian agrees that the Old Testament Scriptures were inspired by GOD.
See 2 Timothy 3:16 if you disagree.
So then, to claim that this verse proves that the Holy Spirit is NOT a person would be saying that the Holy Scriptures were INSPIRED by a NON-PERSON.
It was the Prophets of the Old Testament who were searching the Scriptures for the TIME when the Messiah would come.
So, the WHEN “It” testified beforehand is referring to God HIMSELF who INSPIRED the Scripture to be written and prophesied through His prophets of old.
Isaiah 34:16,17.
“Seek you out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for My mouth, It (H1931) has commanded, and His Spirit, It (H1931) has gathered them.
Isaiah 34:17. And He (H1931) has cast the lot for them, and His hand has divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.”
This is an obvious error made by the translators to refer to God Spirit as an “IT” AND as a “HE” in the same context and even in the same breath, so to speak.
It is the SAME Hebrew word, Strong’s number H1931, that is referring to the SAME Spirit using BOTH pronouns. “it” AND “he”.
The LITERAL translation says His Spirit He has gathered them. And He has cast the lot for them.
Here is the definition of the Hebrew word, Strong’s number H1931, that is referring to the SAME Spirit using BOTH pronouns “it” AND “he”.

The second form is the feminine beyond the Pentateuch; a primitive word, the third person pronoun singular, he (she or it); only expressed when emphatic or without a verb; also (intensively) self, or (especially with the article) the same; sometimes (as demonstrative) this or that; occasionally (instead of copula) as or are: - he, as for her, him (-self), it, the same, she (herself), such, that (. . . it), these, they, this, those, which (is), who.
So then, the translators could have just as easily translated Isaiah 34:16 using the definition “the SAME”.

“Seek you out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth, the SAME (H1931) has commanded, and his spirit, the SAME (H1931) has gathered them.
Isaiah 34:17. And He (H1931) has cast the lot for them, and the SAME hand has divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.”
My point is that NONE of the verses that use a neuter pronoun that refers to the Holy Spirit proves that the Holy Spirit is NOT a PERSON or BEING.
How could the ORIGIN of Jesus be FROM a NON-PERSON or a NON-BEING?
Matthew 1:18.
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”
Now the Greek word translated as of means ORIGIN and OUT FROM.
Jesus said that he came OUT FROM God in John 16: 27,28.

Here is what E-Sword says that the Greek word translated as OF in Matthew 1:18 means.

From the TOTALITY of the Scripture, I myself, must conclude that the Holy Spirit is ONE and the SELF-SAME BEING as Almighty God the Father.
And thus, the Holy Spirit is NOT some so-called THIRD person of a Godhead Trinity God.
Jesus believed that the eternal Spirit who dwelt in him was the Father Himself, according to John 14:10.
And the Apostle Paul believed that GOD dwelt in him, and so do I.
Galatians 1:24
“And they glorified God in me.”
