Overview | Proposal | Evaluation
Students may work in production teams, but each person is to edit their own final product from the shared footage. Storyboarding can be submitted as a group as long as all members contribute to it.
Using everything you've learned in the course you are to make a music video for music of your choice (as long as it's 'clean'). Your music video should have:
at least 1 animated element (Animate or After Effects)- even if it's a 'bumper'
applied lighting - even if it's a reflector
STEPS:
Find 2-3 other people with which to collaborate or you may go solo should you wish.
CLEARLY define your timelines on the 'pitch sheet' (on the google form on the next page)- remember, you will be evaluated on your pitch sheet so make sure you do it!
On the submission include the song name, the artist, and your overall approach to the concept.
PHYSICAL COPY OR ON StoryboardThat!- Storyboard your ideas - include all relevant information (lighting, audio cues, actors, special effects)
Come up with a SHOTS LIST needed to be done to be successful. Include this on the pitch-sheet.
Pitch the project to me - I must see the SHOTS LIST as well as your STORYBOARD and your submitted google form. Once you've gotten a 'project green light' you can begin filming, otherwise NO FILMING CAN START WITHOUT A GREEN-LIGHT.
While preproduction and production may be shared work, all post-production is done individually.
Export out the project as a H.264 MP4 and submit it into the handin folder
Each individual must submit a google doc reflection to google classroom that has the following:
Who else was in your group for footage and their relative contributions to the project;
An accounting for the time you spent doing what. You may include the logsheet here on your reflection sheet
A list of problems along the way and how you overcame them
A list of things you'd change if you were to do the project again with the same song.
NOTE: please remember to submit your storyboard when done. It's a shared mark for each member of the group and the group suffers if you don't submit it
Using everything you've learned in the course and working by yourself you are to create a full campaign for a not-for-profit of your choice. You will
design a series of thumbnail concept pieces for each of the above you will submit as a proposal.
design a logo, letterhead and 24x36 poster
fire off at least 12 pictures for the campaign. The choice of what to shoot is up up to you, it can be people, places or things. One or more will be included in on the poster
create a 10s Instagram-style video explaining the campaign
