Your "Summative Project" is intended to give you an opportunity to display ALL the programming skills you've acquired over the semester. Your goal is simply to develop a fun, playable game or a software product of your choice. The language is your choice, it can be SmallBasic, Python (additional graphics tutorial in python) or Construct. Most of you will choose to produce a game and as such you will have the option of a few different types of games which can, depending on complexity, yield you a range of marks. If you have ideas OTHER than a game please come discuss it with me before you begin seriously planning it for the "green light" go-ahead.
(from basic to complex)
If you choose to take the easier games (1 or 2) then you are looking at being limited in your upper mark for the summative. Generally, games 1-2 are going to be limited to level 3, while games 3-6 are all rated as a potential level 4, with a sliding scale for complexity (that is to say, a Bomberman game that is more poorly done will be more likely to generate a higher evaluated rating than a Breakout game that is more completely done). That said, there is latitude for complexity.
