So our ship is a bit bright. Space is anything but really light so let's play with lights a bit before we get into animating
Notice how when I hit A to select everything, I have the original grid-space of our spaceship, the spaceship itself, the sphere in the background and that little circle with dotted rings around it. That's the ambient light for the scene. Let's play with the light to make space a bit more moody.
To speed up our visuals, we're going to go into VIEWPORT SHADING and turn on SCENE LIGHTS and SCENE WORLD
So looking back at our light. Ensure it's selected.
It's a 100W lamp......in space......well, that just won't do.
We want to change our point-lamp into a Sun (radiating outwards in all directions) logically.
Make it slightly yellow.
It's a bit bright no?
First let's change the STRENGTH down to 5.
Now let's move that sun WAYYYY off in space
Go into FRONT view and move the sun (G) way up and away.
I've put it here.
The star field in the background is a bit too bright. Space is very very dark.
I've changed some of the volume settings for the world shader (see right)
F12 for a render. If we like the look of it, then we're almost ready to animate now.
