Streamed audio macro instructions for Voyager:
These macros have been created to enhance Voyager records for sound recordings in Sibley’s collection which are exactly duplicated in our licensed streamed audio products. Naxos, Naxos Jazz, and DRAM.
Preliminary considerations:
1. This is to be used for Voyager only; no OCLC work needs to be done.
2. If you see that a recording in Sibley seems to be duplicated in one of the online products, check to see that it is the exact match. Label, label no., and contents must match perfectly. If not, do not attempt to do any work on the Voyager record. For example, some jazz recordings might have extra tunes, alternate takes, etc. that might not be on an LP version of the same title.
3. The directory S:\Technical Services\Cataloging\ Streamed audio macros contains the 3 macros and this set of directions, called Streamed audio instructions.docx.
To enhance bibliographic records:
1. There are 3 macro files, each with 2 macros to be utilized;
a. naxosclass.mex (contains naxosclassbib and naxosclasshol)
b. nazosjazz.mex (contains naxosjazzbib and naxosjazzhol)
c. dram.mex contains drambib and dramhol)
2. Open the Macro Express application
3. In Voyager, pull up a record that has a streamed audio equivalent
4. Open the .mex file for the specific database for the streamed audio (as in #1)
5. Hit the “hot key” for whichever database is applicable
a. Naxosclassbib : Alt+N
b. Naxosjazzbib: Alt+J
c. Drambib: Alt+D
6. Each will add the 007 for Electronic resource; a 530 note, and and and 856 link. These variable fields will be in the top of the bib, and ideally should be moved to a proper location further down the record.
7. First though, complete the URLs in the 530 and 856 for the recording, copying and pasting the remainder of the URL into each field.
8. Using cut and paste, move the 530 field as the last 5xx note in the bib record.
9. Using cut and paste, move the 856 field as the last note in the bib record.
10. Save the record.
To enhance holdings records:
1. Click on New holdings.
2. Hit the “hot key” for whichever database is applicable

b. Naxosjazzbib: Ctrl+J
c. Drambib: Ctrl+D
3. Complete the URL 856 for the recording, copying and pasting the remainder of the URL into the field.
4. Save the record.
Finally:
Check the OPAC to see that the wording and the link works.
