Note: In October 2022 measures were taken to protect 655 fields with subfield $5 on export from Connexion, to prevent loss of those fields when records are re-exported. It should be noted that the field is not protected when importing a record using Alma's Search Resources function. It is for that reason and for historical purposes that this procedure is maintained in this wiki.
If you accidentally overlay a Rush Rhees held sound recording, the 655 can be put back into the record with these instructions:
655 Index Term—Genre/Form
Add one of the following seven terms to each title cataloged (in Alma only):
Classical Music (Includes chamber music, orchestral music, vocal, early music, oratorio, avant garde and contemporary music, sacred vocal music)
Film Music (Includes soundtracks and also other recordings of music from films)
Jazz/Blues/American Folk Music (Includes American folk music, but not world folk)
Operas/Musicals (Includes classical opera, Broadway, other musicals)
Rock/Popular Music (Includes country)
Spoken Word
World Music
Code the field as in this example:
655 #7 ‡a Film Music. ‡2 local ‡5 NRU
