Voted to Give Corporations Taxpayer Funded Tax Breaks (TX HB5)

Texas HB 5 (Record Vote 1054?) is a bill that “gives corporations taxpayer-funded property tax breaks ostensibly in exchange for the creation of local jobs. Notably, HB 5 is one of Republican House Speaker Dade Phelan’s legislative priorities.” This is not fiscal responsibility and will be used by big corporations to pay less taxes, without creating many jobs. More Republicans voted for the bill than Democrats. Governor Greg Abbot has signed the bill into law.
