Senate Republicans Advance Foreign Aid Package, Omitting Border Funding

The Senate advanced a $95 billion foreign aid package on Thursday. The bill contains funding for Ukraine, Israel, Gaza (Palestine), and Taiwan, but leaves out funding for the U.S. border. The bill passed 67-32, with 17 Republicans (joining Democrats) in supporting the bill. An earlier $118B bill , which still contained billions of dollars in foreign aid, also contained roughly $20B dollars to fund the Southern Border, but it was killed by four Senate Republicans. The bill failed with a vote of 49-50, which means it would have passed if  those four Republicans had supported the bill. Three of the four Senators chose to support the $95B package, but not the $118B package that funded our Southern Border. The Gateway pundit reported that the $118 billion dollar package contained

"$20.23 billion for border operations, policy enforcement, and narcotics interdiction

Introduction of the Fentanyl Eradication and Narcotics Deterrence (FEND) Off Fentanyl Act

$400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program

Provisions for government intervention at varying thresholds of border encounters

Work authorizations for illegal aliens"

The last part of this report is concerning, and it might be a reason for these Senators voting against the bill, but that does not seem to be the case. Three of those Republicans have voted in favor of amnesty in the past, and they are some of the worst RINOs in congress. Senator James Lankford on the other hand does not have a voting record in favor of amnesty. He voted against both bills.

Here are the Republicans who voted in support of $95 billion foreign aid package, without border funding:

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (AK)

Sen. Mitch McConnell (KY)

Sen. Bill Cassidy (LA)

Sen. Roger Wicker (MS)
