Voted to Continue Funding CISA’s Illegal Censorship and Election Interference
On Wednesday October 1, 2023 one hundred nine (109) House Republicans voted against Rep. Andrew Clyde's amendment to "H.R. 4367 – Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2024" (Amendment No. 29 – Reduces funding for CISA) which sought to strip the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of 25% of its funding. CISA is a government organization that has censored American citizens and interfered in elections. The Federalist reports, "CISA officials use illegal powers to suppress information that they know to be true in order to preserve official government narratives and control the minds of the American public. In addition to addressing mis- and disinformation, CISA directs the censorship of “malinformation,” defined by the agency as information “based on fact, but used out of context to mislead, harm, or manipulate." “In other words, malinformation is factual information that is objectionable not because it is false or untruthful, but because it is provided without adequate ‘context’ — context as determined by the government." CISA is an illegal government agency that should be defunded, but one hundred nine House Republicans think otherwise. They do not care about defending the Constitution and the First Amendment.
