Voted Against Criminalizing Unlawful Transmission of Sexual Materials (TX HB2789)

Texas HB2789 created a criminal offense for “unlawful electronic transmission of sexually explicit visual material.” If a person does not request sexually explicit content and it is sent to them, the person who sent it will be charged with a Class C misdemeanor. Seven Republicans voted against the bill.
