"Looking west towards Cornelius Pass Road. Bridge is just behind that overgrown area."
Between the NW Boat Basin Road fragment and the McCarthy Creek fragment, there may be some deviations from the original alignment, and the highway was clearly straightened a bit, but the current alignment seems close to the likely old route. (v.007)
An abandoned portion of the old highway is visible in front of the old school and to the left of the current highway, crossing over McCarthy Creek Bridge and terminating at the Cornelius Pass Road (.2 mile). The bridge and fragment were abandoned in 1938 and became state property.
