This viaduct predates the highway and was never part of the CRH. It is visible behind the parked cars on the left side of the photo below. Behind the "Welcome to Rainier" sign is a small, block long fragment of abandoned highway that used to connect the modern CRH with the original Route 2, starting its climb out of Rainier at the right side of the picture.
