Get Started Today With Pigeon Farming...
Do you know how to raise a pigeon egg?I do.
In fact,I raised 3 eggs.
1st egg:I was so excited that I found an egg in the nest of the pigeon.I took good care of it and waited for it to hatch.Sadlly,it never hatched.
2nd egg:Again,I found another one but this time I didn't take care of it as much as I did with the previous one but it still didn't hatch.
3rd egg:This time,I was very careful with the egg and protected it from harm by putting into a cage.It hatched and I was overjoyed!
Two days later, the baby pigeon died soon after hatching because I kept it too hot in the cage instead of cold.
Some years ago it was suggested that I should raise a pigeon egg under a hen.
I have tried this with success. The pigeon will come forth, but the hen is the mother to it and the chickens are the brothers and sisters.
The young pigeon must be kept where it can see its foster mother. If it wanders away, it will not run far before it will return to the hen and nestle under her wing for protection.
The little pigeon will roost with the hen and her chickens at night; in fact, if left by itself, I think it would die, for it takes on all the habits of a chicken.
I have seen several cases where pigeons were raised under hens. Sharp eyes are needed to tell them apart when they first come out, but as they grow older there is no difficulty in knowing which is which.
