How to Raise Roller Pigeons
1. Choose a loft that is dry and well-ventilated, with plenty of fresh air at all times, but no draughts. It should be high enough for your pigeons to fly around comfortably. This means that the roof should be at least 6 ft (1.8 m) from the floor, although 8 ft (2.4 m) is even better. Make sure you have enough space for both birds and breeders - the more space you can give them, the bigger they'll grow!
2. If the loft isn't already furnished with perches, make sure you install some before introducing your birds to their new home. You can use bamboo canes, hazel or chestnut rods - anything that's strong but light so it won't topple over when the birds are perched on it. Make sure there are plenty of perches available for all your pigeons to use - about 2 ft (0.6 m) between each one will do nicely for birds this size!
