My entire investment to date in breeding pigeons is one pigeon.

The pigeon was a gift from a friend. I have no idea whether it is a male or a female, but my goal is to breed it with another pigeon, so that I will have two offspring and a pair of mating pigeons. The offspring will be called squabs.

I plan to keep the squabs with the parents until they are ready to leave the nest. Then I will sell them for meat. My goal is to sell 30 squabs per week.

In order to accomplish this, I will need 30 pairs of breeding pigeons. You can buy pigeons from other people, but that costs money, so I want to start with just one pair and breed additional pairs from the offspring. It takes about 6 months for squabs to reach maturity and become parents themselves, so if everything goes according to plan I should be able to add 5 new pairs of mating pigeons each year until I reach my target of 30 pairs.
