2024 Progr. - Event No.10 Eastfield Facility Tour
EVENT NUMBER 10 Eastfield Facility Tour
The Eastfield Facility, Peterborough (Members only)
Date Monday 7th October 2024 – Free
This tour will take place at 9.15am on the Monday morning.
Come and see how the Company is changing to meet the challenges of the modern diesel engine market.
If you have not seen the factory since you worked in it, you will not recognise the place! Even if you had a tour a few years ago there will be further changes to see, as the Company continually invests in new manufacturing facilities. On the tour you will be able to observe, first-hand, the Company’s commitment to quality, and how computers guide the modern manufacturing world. The tour will provide an insight into Perkins’ and Caterpillar’s history and will begin in the refurbished North Office reception. You will have the opportunity to see engine production on different tracks, as well as the modern machining and testing facilities.
The tour lasts about 90 minutes and will be followed by refreshments in Franks Restaurant on site. Our Patron, David Goldspink, usually meets the tour participants if he is on site.
The tour includes a safety briefing and is for members only. Suitable footwear must be worn - stout shoes with no open toes, open sides or high heels. Note that, as the tour covers most of the factory, it involves a lot of walking. Please indicate if you have mobility issues.
Places are limited, and will be allocated on a ‘first come - first served’ basis.
