A couple hundred years ago, at 7/5/10365, Fadoran Shadowvoid used the Tyrant harrow card to force Arcania to sign a contract, one that can never be broken, not even by a deity. The contract read:
I, Arcania will bear the child of Fadoran. Neither I, nor any of my disciples from the order will ever in any way harm Fadoran, his descendants, or any member of the Shadow Pact, or try to get someone else to harm them. I will not tell anyone about our child. While having this child I will be polymorphed as a Human Scaleborne.
When she had the child, she brought it to the town of Whitmoor, and made sure they took care of it.
Rhowar (336) is the child of Fadoran Shadowvoid, and Arcania, Queen of the Weave. Growing up Rhowar didn't have a lot of issues. He looked a bit different, but not that much that everyone bullied him. His ears were slightly pointier, his hair a little bit white, and his skin a bit gray. He was raised by disciples of the local church, who took great care of him. In his teens, Rhowar was well known for his card tricks. His fingers were quick and nimble, and soon he used his tricks to make some money. Getting older he started training as a wizard. As a wizard he used his cards as his bonded item, he enchanted them with some fancy spells and properties.
After some years of training, still living in his hometown, he was approached by an Elf. The Elf claimed to be his father, and offered some blood so Rhowar could check. The man appeared to be right, introducing himself as Fadoran. He apologized for abandoning him, and promised to explain things in time. For now Fadoran could give him great powers as Rhowar's patron, as well as give him some new cards, two harrow decks, which function as linked decks. These decks now function as his bonded item, often being transformed into regular playing cards. The cards are also a conduit for the powers of a harrower.
Rhowar stayed in the town, even though his father left again. He used his cards for magic tricks, but by doing this he accidentally used its power as a harrow deck. The first time, someone drew a Fiend card, but the consequences of this card weren't obvious very soon. The next day someone drew an Avalanche card, but the consequences from this were put on coincidence. But the third day someone drew the Demon's Lantern, and was instantly killed. The viewers were enraged and drove Rhowar out of the town.
Rhowar now set out as a wizard/cartomancer-witch/harrower, showing people their future, and conning them with card games. He also sometimes offers his service for use of the harrow deck, letting people draw a single card for a price. Sometimes this has disastrous consequences, but sometimes it's just really fun. After a few decades, he contacted Fadoran, and they made an alliance. Rhowar would be the first 'scout' of the Shadow Pact, and keep an eye out for new recruits, and Fadoran would help him whenever needed.
To help in his endeavors, he made 7 clones of himself using clone and copy soul, and they split up.
Each copy has the exact same gear, including two harrow decks. Rhowar wears simple clothes, a dark blue robe with golden accents, leather boots and belt, and a pair of bracers. He has two deck bags on his left hip and a dagger on his right together with a pouch. He has a pair of glasses, and on his forehead are three incandescent blue spheres in a little arc, and on his head a silver crown and headband. He also has a necklace. On both of his arms on the outside are five orange prisms embedded, three on each upper arm, and two on the lower arms. His hair is now pretty long and wavy, and still very white.
Rhowar is technically a Scaleborne, but spells were cast on him so that you can't see this. He does still gain the benefits.
Rhowar1 often returned to his hometown every few decades, when one day he witnessed the bearing of true love there, Jen and Endellion. A few years later he would return, and see Jen in desperate need of help. He introduced himself to Jen as a magician, and offered her to draw some magical cards to test her luck. She said she'd do it if he pulled one card first. Rhowar drew the Midwife, at which instantly a young baby appeared in Jen's arms. It was their newborn Human son. Jen wasn't ready for this, so Rhowar offered to take care of him. Jen then drew her cards. After he left Jen there, he recommended her to Fadoran, who then recruited her, and gave her a quest.
Rhowar2 headed north into the Moonsong Woods, learning more about his ancestry. This is where he found Fanel after 150 and some years, who he convinced to join the Shadow Pact. 2 then continued wandering the woods for the next 100 years.
When 1 saw Jen enter the Marsh of Misdirection, Fadoran sent Fanel towards the Juncture Jungle to see if she'd come out on that side. He observed her coming out, and started following her. He was soon joined by 2 and Aldor.
After the fellowship kinda all died out, he stuck around Beluir, where he met two new adventurers, Ceres and Rose, and he traveled with them for a little while until they too, parted ways. After this 2 went back up to the Moonsong Woods.
Rhowar3 entered the Dark Demiplane, and serves sort of as a messenger mostly. He helps Fadoran around his realm. 3 also trained a lot with Elaya, quickly gaining levels.
Rhowar4 at first went traveling in Crescent Bay. 4 went looking for Endellion after 1 found out she was gone. So he traveled through Crescent Bay, now walking north in the west part of the province, where he finds her. He recruited her and three others into a quest based on a false prophecy he told them, and joined them on their journey.
Rhowar5 at one point drew 5 cards himself, to test his own luck. He drew the Desert (Not used), the Queen Mother, the Rabbit Prince, the Rakshasa, and the Sickness.
5 then headed towards the west, on his way towards Skullbay. He heard about the Undead vanishing, and that there is now a festival planned. He attended the festival and over some days witnessed what had come to pass to the Heroes of Goldcrest, and after that decided to stay in Goldcrest for the time being.
Rhowar6 headed towards Juncture Jungle, inspecting the order, and even becoming a member of the Unspeakables for over 300 years. He trained Gurshy when he joined the Order. When Gurshy left, he stayed, and he still remains here.
Rhowar7 joined Morean, Eradean, and Immariel on their quest as part of the outsiders, though they too did not last very long. After this, he joined 8 in being inactive at present..
Rhowar8 has never been used so far, remaining as inactive and backup for when he's needed.
