[DEAD]
Orik Bronzebeard used to be a simple guard in Irontower. At some point, he decided to join a war party towards Skull Bay. They get captured, and thrown into a dungeon in the city that's now known as Goldcrest. Months later all the Undead randomly turn to dust. After a few weeks, a weird stone Dwarf comes in and frees him along with the other prisoners. This was on date 3/9. After a few weeks, Orik decides he wants to become a Dark Rider, and goes to Bobobo for help.
Orik Bloodbeard formerly known as Orik Bronzebeard grew up in the countryside near Irontower. He was born into a clan that was well known for their skill in both magic and research into magical objects and/or creatures. During the childhood testing for magical aptitude within the clan it was discovered that Orik had no aptitude for magic and it was decided that he would be drafted up into service as a guardsman within the clan.
During what was supposed to be a routine escort mission of one of the clans most gifted youngsters, Orik’s party was ambushed by bandits of which he was the only survivor. After this disaster had occurred the clan issued out an investigation into the matter. During this investigation, the grandfather of the youth who was an elder within the clan doctored the results to make sure all the blame would befall upon Orik so an execution order for him would be initiated. Orik’s family found out about the order before it was issued and helped smuggle him out of the clan’s territory.
After a few months on the run while gathering information about his clan Orik found out that his family members had been executed in his stead due to them aiding him in his escape. Enraged by this information, Orik vowed to wipe out every single member of his former clan to avenge his fallen family. These events were what caused him to change his name from Bronzebeard to Bloodbeard.
Orik knew that as he was right now, he would have little chance against his former clan and decided that he would need both allies and power to complete this task. Orik would do anything to accomplish this task, even selling his very soul, was a price he was all too willing to make.
During his travels to find the aid he was looking for, Orik encountered a group of mercenaries who introduced themselves as members of the Ironsword Company They were planning an assault upon the capital of Skullbay and were looking for people to join them in purging the city of the Undead plague which was infesting it. Seeing an opportunity to acquire both allies and learning how to better defend himself in a fight, Orik eagerly agreed to this proposal.
After having made the agreement to join them the party welcomed Orik into their fold and after having made brief introductions to each other they set off towards their target. During the journey, Orik was briefed about the varying creatures that he would likely encounter at the capital. One of these creatures, in particular, garnered his interest, the “Dark Riders”. These knights chose to be bound to the service of a Lich in return for Immortality and other dark powers.
After having traveled across the lands of Skullbay and having fought his fair share of Undead, Orik and his party arrived at their destination. Once there the party quickly started on the assignments they had previously been briefed on. As the battle progressed it quickly became apparent that the city possessed more forces than the party originally expected. Due to their lack of manpower, they were steadily defeated and those that were not either outright killed, or abandoned the rest of the party, were imprisoned within the city’s dungeon. Orik spent many months within this dungeon whereas time progressed his sanity was pushed to the breaking point.
One day Orik noticed that the usual ruckus surrounding the dungeon had suddenly disappeared after which he went out to investigate. To his surprise, all the undead that were usually found within the dungeons had suddenly turned to dust as if some magic had sapped whatever was keeping them alive from them. Orik was elated by this sudden turn of events and quickly started making attempts at breaking the lock of his cell. As Orik was doing so an unexpected visitor suddenly released him from his imprisonment. This person was shaped like a dwarf, but his body was made up of solid rock and crystals. Orik was confused by this, but quickly made up his mind and thanked his rescuer for aiding him in his escape. He questioned his rescuer about the sudden disappearance of the undead within the dungeon and was surprised to hear that all the undead within the city limits had been dealt with. Before Orik could ask more, the stone dwarf left to release the other prisoners within the dungeon.
As a couple of weeks passed Orik acquired more information about what had happened the day he had been rescued. Members of the party who was responsible for his rescue had taken over leadership of the city and were governing it from a floating island which was located above the city center. Orik found out that one of the members within the party that was still governing the city was a powerful Owlfolk Lich known as Bobobo. This Lich was spreading the word around the city that he was looking for people to add to his personal army. This information intrigued Orik and reminded him of the Dark Rider creatures he had heard of in months passed. He decided that if he played his cards right, he would be able to acquire a powerful ally as well as an opportunity to increase his strength. Even though making a deal with this Lich will probably cost a lot, Orik decided that he would be more than willing to pay it to sate his lust for revenge upon his former clan.
After having made an appeal to meet with Bobobo, Orik was allowed to converse with the Lich and tell him about his proposal. The Lich eagerly agreed to it and provided a contract to Orik which had to be signed with his blood. Orik was warned that if he were to sign this contract that he would not be able to get out of it easily. Not giving the idea a second thought Orik promptly signed the contract and was transformed into Bobobo’s Dark Rider of War. Once the transformation was completed, Bobobo branded Orik with his symbol so that he would be able to keep tabs on him if the need arises. Once all of the requirements to the ritual had been completed the Lich teleported his new follower to a small town called Beluir situated within the Juncture Jungle.
