To Redeem A child

Poetic notes on Bo*

Let every Pharaoh hear!

Let every nation come to be schooled!

This is what God says,

“Israel is My firstborn”

Israel is the heir

to the new heavens and the new earth!

It felt like millions of years had passed

in the dream of a night,

when God began to make a new creation,

when he began to redeem Israel to be a nation,

by surgically removing them

from the Egyptian Adam

What is said to Pharaoh?

It is that which is said to all the nations of the earth

It is that God says:

“Rejoice with My people, Oh, you nations!”

If you oppress them

and will not let them serve Me,

you will have two witnesses against you

The new moon shall shame you,

and the finger of God will touch you

But the nations hardened their hearts

When they saw that their firstborn

was not God’s firstborn,

that their Pharaoh was not God’s heir,

and would not inherit God’s wealth,

they turned to self-pity,

like Esau did with Jacob

Esau’s false sense of entitlement

became a sink hole in his heart

His G-dless loneliness, dread and remorse

churned like seven molten mountains in his soul

He built an empire on the seven heads of desolation

Ishmael’s stolen pride created Pharaoh,

when his laughter mocked his brother, Isaac

Ishmael’s stolen pride was passed on to Esau

And in Edom Pharaoh finds his final coffin

In every way acknowledge God’s Passover,

and He will direct your every path

Let the lion-like child acknowledge Hashem’s Passover

From where the lion lies upon the rise,

let her survey the plains of the Passover Torah,

concerning both the galut and geula

The are both the vision envisioned by God

Let the eagle-like child acknowledge Hashem’s Passover

from where he flies over the planet’s skies

Let him spot with his eye the redemptive currents of time,

the Divine influence flowing on earth and in heaven,

inspiring observance of God's Torah guidelines

Let the ox-like child acknowledge Hashem’s Passover

from where his mind plows the furrows of nations,

to prepare the way of Mashiach

When he comes he will bring the new moon

Let the human-like child acknowledge Hashem’s Passover

when she reaches freely for the fruit of every tree

first planted in the garden of God,

that was grown and commanded as the food of faith

For her teshuvah reaches for the mitzvot of God

They are the mana of the children of Israel,

given to them to share with all the animals of heaven

and all the angels of earth

Let all children acknowledge Hashem’s Passover

in all their lessons in all their seasons

Justice will well up as primordial springs

Righteousness will flow down as continuous life upon the heavens

and overflow upon the earth

In recent times, since the cord of Adam was broken,

the child has needed to be wrapped in a threefold cord,

the cord of mother and the cord of father on earth,

together with redemptive wrappings

of the cord of God from Above

Creation spins and topples in loneliness and G-dless death,

while the Father in heaven takes hold of Israel,

in order to bring her into living light out of expanding darkness,

An Eternal Mother giving birth to life, though her child was dead

This God does that every child might learn and know the Passover,

that the God who is one might be one in the heart,

that Hashem might be between their eyes,

that all his children might be one as he is one
