The session began with a general speakers list that started with the Netherlands. Implementing technology seems to be a concern from the delegate of the Netherlands as it hasn’t been discussed, in such a way they proposed for a collaboration with the UN. Upon asking what the focus of their block would be, the delegate of Netherlands answered that their focus is to implement a monitoring system that will be applicable for both LEDCs and MEDCs which will use the FAITH task force along with collaborating with UNCTAD to have tech assistance hence where the implementation of technology comes in as a tracking factor. The delegate of the Republic of Kenya goes on in saying that for the drafting resolution they believe that both blocks may find a clear vision on what to vote upon.

Afterward, the motion proposed by the delegate of El Salvador which is an Unmoderated Caucus passed which immediately brought upon a debate between the two blocks namely El Salvador, Netherlands, and Germany against the delegate of Zimbabwe. The delegate of Zimbabwe responds by saying that the former’s working paper has potential but wishes to add more concern on solutions for farmers and agriculture workers during this pandemic, specifically within the African countries. To which the delegate of Netherlands responded with a proposed solution is transforming the farming sector into an exporting one which will be digital that would ensure the income of the farmers and those in the agriculture community. The delegate of Germany said that as of now their main concern lies under the wrong use of stakeholders mandate. They have already reached some solutions with their block which includes conducting evaluation and assessment before deploying foreign aid. In a brief interview, the delegate of Estonia stated that the main concern at this time would be the distribution mechanisms and ensuring civilians on receiving aid. To add to that, the pandemic has caused the situation to hit a low as in the words of the delegate of Estonia, “COVID + Unclear Mechanism + War = Millions of deaths,”.
