Implementation vs Solutions in Eradicating Child Labor

Child Labor has been a widely considered issue circulating international contestation. Root causes of child labor such as unbalanced education, financial problems among families, and a country’s economic systems were mentioned. These issues are inevitable to some countries as poverty is still one of the main causes of the existence of child labor. Hence, some countries suggest a few solutions to conquer child labor as the foundation for their movements.

Suggestions of solutions were made as Rwanda stated the country’s movements on eradicating child labor. Rwanda highlighted the importance of enhancing the mechanism on investigating the existence of child labor within companies through ways such as the requirement of accountability reports for each companies showing conclusive evidence that

complies with the laws and regulations of child labor. Other than that, Rwanda also proposes providing further investigations towards the employees within each company by reassuring the validity of the accountability reports. To mitigate the child labor issue, China also suggested a further alternate solution that is employing legal workers above the minimum age of labor to replace children who are in question.

However, the USA took a different toll on handling the issue of child labor. As the issue has been around because of the same root causes for years, suggestions and solutions have been made in the past. Hence, the importance of its implementation and grass-root movements are what should be highlighted at this time. This implementation could only be done with the maximization of law enforcement bodies mitigating the issue. Hence, there needs to be a training program of enhancing law enforcement bodies in conquering child labor.
