China’s Effort on Anti-Insurgent Issue : Combatting the Lord’s Resistance Army

UNITED NATION – China has shown the eagerness of resolving the problem of Lord’s Resistance Army that occurred in the African region. This has shown the eagerness of China to give their assistance for the betterment of Africa. Considering most of the Chinese peacekeepers in Africa are assigned to four of the UN biggest missions there, it is for the purpose of helping and maintaining peace and security, protecting vulnerable groups and supporting development.

The representative of China during the 2^nd day meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly also emphasizes on China’s role to combat the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) both soft and the hard way. It needs to be taken into an account that the conflict management compromises of the confidence-building measure and DDR (Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration) as per usual, with a more integrative effort of all nation, thus, not only the peace-making process could be ensured in a safer way, but also to banish the existence of such insurgency group from becoming the potential threat of the region. Lastly, for an alternative resort to counter the Lord’s Resistance Army, a military measure also becomes the delegates and China’s concern to be fully prepared if there are any more crisis could happen by the criminal activities done by the LRA.
