What Is The Best Solution to Prevent The Misuse of Foreign Aid?

The global pandemic has the biggest impact, especially on countries’ finances. The developing countries are desperate because of the financial crises and already asked several helps from policy experts, international organizations, and foreign countries. ¹Reasons aid given to developing countries is meant to help these countries to develop and accomplish. But to increase and avert the countries economic and humanitarian catastrophe, the aid must be well used. Quoting from the delegate of India, the cause of the misuses of foreign aid is the local government doesn’t understand the budget and of the government culture, corruption. From the delegate of South Africa, corruption is an insidious plague that has a wide range of corrosive effects on societies. Transparency is needed to the society itself and also to grow the trust from the civil to the government. Some countries are also facing other problems, such as the lack of technology, ex. Somalia, and/or facing with HIV and AIDS epidemic, ex. The Republic of Kenya.

Possible solutions to prevent to misuse of aids, quoting from delegates of France, increase the local authority to delivers the aid and encourage to observe and monitor the aids. The International Aid Fund is also still awkward. For example from one of the richest countries, Norway, the impact of COVID-19, no matter how much the funding was given, will not enough if it is not well maintained. Planning and monitoring the foreign aid that has given is needed and the government must be responsible for that.
