Topic: Invertebrates Animals
Invertebrates can be classified into eight smaller groups. They are:
Sponges - invertebrates that have hollow tubes with many pores
Cnidarians - have tentacles and their tentacles have stinging cells called nematocysts examples are jellyfish, sea anemones and corals
Annelids - they are segmented worms like earthworms and leeches
Roundworms - they are unsegmented worms, examples are roundworm and hookworm
Flatworms - are worms with soft, flat and unsegmented body, examples are marine flatworm and beef tapeworm
Mollusks - are unsegmented soft-bodied invertebrates that usually have shells examples are snails, squids, octopus, slugs, clams and oysters
Arthropods - have segmented body with jointed legs. They have external skeleton, called exoskeleton to protect their body
Echinoderms - have spines of various lengths on their bodies. They have radially symmetrical bodies. They live in the sea.
