9-8-2023 Board Meeting

9/8/2023. We had our first Board Meeting this month. 

• Charles Wigle, Nicole Tebow and Denis McFadden were in attendance. We had a Zoom meeting for about 45 minutes. Great start. 

• We three are officially board members of Next Wave Housing now. 

• We voted to adopt the Bylaws. These are our internal rules that we have to abide by. They are amenable, by a majority vote of the board. 

• The Articles of Incorporation are rules that are accepted by the WA SOS and can also be amenable. They have to be submitted to the state with a cost. These articles are the documents needed to establish the non-profit. 

• Board approved contacting Frank at DVA to find what they can do for us.

• Voted to establish committees for land acquisition, outreach and grants. 

• Denis will file tax exemption soon at $275 cost.

• Discussed outreach needed, possible grants and the need to obtain a pro bono lawyer

• We will  have our next board meeting after we get tax exemption. Possibly 1-1 ½ months from now.
