Summers Here Finally!!!
There was no June newsletter, as my wife and I were out of the country. I am slowly getting back into things, so I have little to write about. I wish that there were a couple more people that are interested in this project enough to step forward and participate. I know how time consuming this could be, especially if you are the caregiver of a loved one, but it could mean the difference in your adult child living at an Adult Family Home or our option to own their own home, be independent and have work opportunities in their future. Nothing is free in life, so we have to work on it to get what we want. What are your goals for your adult child with disabilities??
You don't have to be an expert on anything to help. I know I'm not. At this point most of the work would be on the computer. If you are outspoken and like to talk there is work for that as well. Computer work would be searching for funders, properties and outreach.
On another note we received a denial letter from the Norcliffe Foundation.
Research is ongoing for funders for general operating expenses and DVA consulting.
I have added more articles on Facebook!
Check out Bridge Meadows in Oregon. Sounds alot like we want to build with the intergenerational model. Here's a Ted talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xb0fzZJuOoU
Just replace foster kids with people with disabilities and home ownership.
The intergenerational model will solve some of the cost of care.
Take care
