This will be a short newsletter as I had life get in the way of this project this month.
We had our first board meeting. Adopted the Bylaws and discussed bringing on board DVA to help design the complex. Charles and I talked with Frank and Freek from DVA this past week,as to what they can do for us. Freek was very interested in this project, as it includes everybody living there, and not just the residents and the caregivers. After we receive tax exemptions or sooner,we will notify them, so they can give us a detailed billing to go after grants. It is possible to do this in phases. I really like this consulting firm, as they have been building dementia and people with disabilities(1) villages all over the world. They have a lot of clout and experience. We look forward to working with them.
I have not received the official name change from the Secretary of State(SOS Wa). I am waiting to get this to go ahead and apply for tax exemption.
I am slowly switching all the info from one site to the other. The Next Wave in Housing will go away on the 5th. So if any links don't work, let me know. If one site isn’t working, try the other.
I also contacted a non profit lawyer service, Community Rise who will give us counsel on some of our legal questions.
We still need board members, officers, lawyers, outreach coordinators and researchers.
