Howdy. My name is Nathan Schmidt and generally I teach Ethics and Moral Problems and Introduction to Philosophy here at NCC. I am currently finishing my PhD in philosophy at Binghamton University. I am what is known as ABD (all but dissertation) meaning that all I have to do is finish writing my dissertation (done), defend it (not done), and I will have my doctorate. My field of expertise is ethics, specifically ethics and evolution and how we can determine who counts as a moral agent. I have been teaching philosophy for several years now at many different colleges and Universities and have taught classes in Ethics, Medical Ethics, Business Ethics, Philosophy of Law, Ancient Greek Philosophy, Logic, and several others. I have also worked closely with science departments and their intersection with philosophy, including holding a research assistant position in a biology department. Currently I live in Mountainside NJ with my wife, Jessica, and our three dogs, Scully, Piper (pictured), and Silas
