Hello everyone. My name is Professor John Michael Mayrick Saimbert. Currently, I am a dual resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. I have worked in the financial services and banking arena for 11 years in information technology while teaching Political Science, History, Sociology, General Education in the Humanities and Social Sciences, and College Success courses in several institutions of higher learning including Northampton Community College, Marywood University, William Paterson University, Berkeley College, Caldwell College, Middlesex County College, and Union County College. My teaching experiences have been in onsite, hybrid, accelerated and distance environments.
At NCC, I teach Intro to Political Science, American National Government, US State & Local Government, and American Constitutional Law. At the other institutions, I teach Introduction to Social Sciences, Political Science, Comparative Government, Contemporary US History, World Civilization I & II, Western Civilization I & II, The West & the World, Roots of the Modern World, The Early Modern World, The Modern World, First-Year Seminar, Law & Society, Art of the Argument, and Gender, Race, & Class. Last semester at Northampton Community College, I presented “Origins of FERPA and Its Relevance to Contemporary Issues in Privacy” and hope to present on the impact of technical qualitative learning in social science disciplines like Political Science in the future. At Middlesex County College, I presented "Aftermath of the 2009 Governor's Race: Implications on NJ's Future." I served as a District Commissioner for the Citizens Advisory Commission in Essex County, NJ with a focus on elections and community services. From an education standpoint, I hold BA degrees in Political Science and History from Rutgers University-NCAS, an MA in Political Science from the Rutgers-Graduate School of Newark, Certified Software Tester and Certified Software Test Analyst Certifications, and a diploma in Network Engineering & Data Communications from The Chubb Institute.
Finally, I just completed my 10th season of league bowling, which culminated with a first-half championship on 1/7/12 and winning Most Improved League Bowler honors with a 19 pin increase. My teams have finished in the top 3 from 2007-2011 (which includes a 2007 league championship, runner-up finishes in 2009-2010, and a 3rd place finish in 2011).
