Janet Hunter grew up in the farmlands of central Pennsylvania, and completed her B.S. in Business/Economics from Pennsylvania State University. She earned Master’s degrees (one in business administration and one in economics) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and her Ph.D. in political science at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Hunter has taught business and economics at West Virginia State College, Virginia Tech, and Lees College (Kentucky). She recently retired from a full time position as Professor and Chair of Business at Northland Pioneer College in northeastern Arizona. Besides teaching in a traditional classroom setting, she has taught distance learning courses via interactive video and online. As a result of her dedication to providing quality instruction, Dr. Hunter has been awarded two teaching awards.

In her spare time, Dr. Hunter enjoys playing with her cats, dogs, and horses.
