Breinich, Todd

Hello, my name is Todd Breinich. I teach in the online learning department here at Northampton Community College and have done so almost since the department's inception. I currently teach Corrections and Rehabilitation as well as Juvenile Delinquency and Laws Pertaining to Children. While I teach strictly as an Adjunct Professor part-time, I have been involved in this field for over 20 years. My full time job is in working with troubled youth at an alternative school in Fogelsville. I work in our school's partial hospitalization program, and as such, provide one-on-one counseling to students as well as conducting therapeutic groups. I have certification in Experiential Learning and enjoy using Ropes Courses as a therapeutic tool to work with my clientele. I am married and have three children and four step-children. My family is very involved in our church as well as sports, as our children play club ice hockey, field hockey and soccer which keeps us traveling quite a bit, as well as also being involved in roller hockey and dance.

I have earned my Master's Degree in Administration of Justice from Shippensburg University. I am a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan and avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. Someday, before I am old and grey, my wife and I would like to move somewhere tropical where I can wear shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops year round. My one regret with online learning is that I don't have the face-to-face interaction with my students that you get from the traditional college experience. However, I enjoy my courses and the students who take them, and hopefully, in the end, I have helped to teach them something as they begin to pursue their career endeavors.
