Patricia LaSalle MS, RD, CDE, LDN is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. Since moving to the Lehigh Valley in 2002, she has been working at the Helwig Health and Diabetes Center at Lehigh Valley Health Network. She specializes in nutrition education and diabetes management in the outpatient setting. She provides individualized medical nutrition therapy for a variety of disease states including type1 and type 2 diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, weight management and obesity, food allergies and other medical conditions as well as group classes. She works closely with the preexisting pregancy and diabetes programs, medicare population and children with type 1 diabetes. She has also worked in the inpatient setting in various hospitals in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island where she worked on geriatrics, renal, oncology and cardiac units for five years.
Her teaching experience includes teaching nutrition courses at the Reading school of nursing for Kutztown University and Touro College in Brooklyn, New York. She also teaches diabetes update courses for health care professionals and programs for the NCC healthcare department.
She is a huge advocate of a whole foods, healthy diet and has a passion for teaching nutrition for disease prevention and optimal health. She is married with two children.
