Wendy Jo Bartkus, MS, received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Addictions from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia. Ms. Bartkus has worked with both adolescent and adult populations at the partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment levels of care for addictions. Her work experience includes developing and implementing treatment programs, directing outpatient treatment facilities, and providing prevention programs for students and adults of all ages. She has over ten years experience working as a psychotherapist specializing in childhood and adolescent disorders. She served as 2002 President of the Lehigh Valley Psychological & Counseling Association and is currently the secretary for the organization.
Ms. Bartkus has taught as an adjunct lecturer at several colleges and universities both online and in the classroom. She is a certified B.A.S.I.C.S. (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) trainer. From 2009 through 2011 she was the Project Director for the PA State System of Higher Education U.S. Department of Education STOP Act grant. In this role, she oversaw the implementation of grant activities (which included implementing social norms campaigns and BASICS to reduce first-year student alcohol use) on all 14 state system campuses. Currently, in addition to teaching, Ms. Bartkus is an independent psychoeducational consultant.
