The Last Flower - Ella Kim (A.E. Arnold Elementary School, Sixth Grade)
The garden had once bloomed with color. Now, only one flower remained. Its red petals torn, trembling in the wind. The others had withered and fallen. “This is all that’s left,” Denise whispered. Still, the broken flower endured, standing through cold nights and lonely days. It gave Denise hope to try again. So, Denise cared for it. Watering it, giving it sunlight every day. Slowly, the garden’s beauty returned. One by one, yellow, red, and blue blossoms filled the garden once again. Sometimes, all it takes is one small flower and a little hope to bring everything back to life.
