Vacation to School - Chloe Moon (Frank Vessels Elementary School, Fifth Grade)
My vacation this summer was so fun—
Playing at the beach, tanning in the sun.
But now it’s over, I feel so weak,
Time to leave the covers, school for the week.
I droop from bed, feeling dizzy and slow,
Then bump my head on a frame of the glow.
It’s me at the beach, so carefree and bright,
A reminder of days that felt so light.
Then it hits me, my heart starts to droop—
Only 365 more days till I can regroup.
Summer’s far away, the school year’s begun,
But I’ll dream of the warmth, the summer sun.
