Drabble - Sanjana Jagan (Margaret Landell Elementary School, Fifth Grade)
My paws slowly moved forward, crushing the leaves beneath them.
My smile grew like a blossom as Hunter ran towards me. I closed my eyes and smelled his familiar smell. Musty, like wood.
He wrapped his paws around me and said, “I missed you, I missed you so much.” My mother, usually gentle as a flower, started sobbing in joy and delight. Everyone exclaimed, “Angel is back! Angel is back!”
I was at home again. After being separated from my family and friends for 18 years, I have come back to where I belonged. I finally felt happy. Untroubled. Carefree.
