Hi 5th/6th Grade BHA Families!
Here we are. Spring Break! Can you believe it?? We had a great day of celebration. I pray you all have a very blessed time off and are able to rest at the feet of our Risen Lord! Thank you, Jesus, for your great sacrifice. Oh how You Love us!
Blessings,

P.S. Our end of year Class Raffle is approaching. This is when the Students "cash" in their bank book points for raffle tickets and get a chance to earn some really cool prizes. I am asking for donations of items I can raffle off. It can be anything from a $5 In-N-Out Gift Card to a board game to some cool books or anything else you know your child and their friends would enjoy. Please email me at magda.ayala.branches@gmail.com or text me at 617.901.7722 with what you will be able to donate. I need all donations by May 9th. Your help would be so appreciated and would ensure the Students have an enjoyable and memorable end of year experience. Many thanks to the few Parents who dropped off donations today. I am so thankful!

Opened class with a discussion of Holy Week and the important events that took place this week in the story of Savior Jesus Christ. We then read this week's Lent Devotional along with John 8:31-38 which led to a discussion on telling the truth and why that's important. Our highlight verse for today was, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” (John 8:32. Mia N. sweetly opened the class in prayer.
Addison shared her observations with the class of the "Improving Gunpowder" experiment she did a few weeks back.
I then checked and credited this week's vocabulary homework.
We kicked off our penultimate Unit in our Science Book, Medical Inventions where we discussed the Microscope & Medical Imaging. This included doing a hands-on experiement where we cut up orange slices to observe how CT scans work. We also watched a video on X-Rays, as well as learned how ultrasounds help check the safety of bicycles. This was a surprise to all. Definitely ask your Students about this.
Addison then shared her extra credit homework where she came up with an idea for a new Robotic Surgery System. Her idea is a Robotic Arm and Camera that would untangle the umbilical cord from around a baby's neck in the womb so a woman does not have to have a C-section. Well done, Addison! So impressed with your line of thinking here.
I passed back the Science Research worksheets to the Students who completed it. If your Student did not submit yet, feel free to email it to me over the break.
Reviewed homework & then dismissed class for recess.
