1.10.23
Hello 5th/6th Grade BHA Families,
It was so nice to be back, despite the rainy weather.... which we all know was so necessary!
In Science we spent a good amount of time discussing Psalm 19:1-14 and how that relates to our trust in God for both physical and spiritual laws, and then we opened up our new section of the book, Inventions & Technology. The Students enjoyed experimenting with potatoes and paint to create their own "printing press." In American History the Students got to practice their debate skills as they argued whether or not they would've joined the cause of the Amerian Revolution, and IEW entailed a cool converssation about Aesop, the author of fables.
Later tonight I will come back to update this page with photos and more detail of what we did today, but I wanted to get this published so you all had access to the homework for this week.
Please check back in later tonight or tomorrow!
Blessings,
Mrs. AyalaHA FYI

Began class with a concluding discussion on our first Science sections, Machines & Motion. We turned to page 120 and read Psalms 19:1-14 to guide our discussion and devotional for today. We talked about how the same God who created all these amazing physical laws we studied in the first half of the year, yes the same God who keeps us from flying off a giant ball spinning on its axis called Earth, is the same God we an trust with spritual laws, such as our salvation. I then asked the Students to mediate on these verses and draw whatever they felt God was placing on their heart. Played this song as inspiration.
Jax graciously led the class in an opening prayer. Thank you, Jax.
I checked & credited vocabulary homework.
I introduced the new section of the book, Inventions & Technology. We talked about which of the upcoming 6 units the were most excited about. Most said Miltary Inventions or Medical Inventions.

There was also a station with rubber stamps and ink.
