11.29.22
Hello 5th/6th Grade BHA Families,
It was so nice to be back together again for a beautiful chapel led by our talented student Worship Team and our faith-filled director, Mrs. Aguero, who shared a wonderful word on the spiritual discipline of Worship. In class we kicked off a new devotion series on Advent. Each week in December we will learn a little bit more about Advent and be reminded of the confident hope we have in Jesus Christ.
Our day was highlighted by a fun Science experiment that took us outside and demonstrated circular motion and angular momentum. The Students were pretty amazed! We then traveled all across these amazing United States thanks to the excellent research and enthusiasm displayed by each Student during their State Presentation. Lastly, we refreshed our memories on our newest writing structure, "Summarizing a Reference," by writing a Key Word Outline and retelling the "Neverland" Story.
I hope everyone left campus today feeling like they had a fun day of learning, not just academic learning but also spiritual and relational learning. I know I did! Thank you again for sharing your kind, funny, and respectful children with me. They are always such a joy!
Blessings,
Mrs. Ayala

Today's we began a month long devotional series on Advent which included the first candle of Advent, the candle of Hope. We read Jeremiah 33:12-16, focusing on v. 14. We discussed the Jewish people's time in exile in Babylon and how Jeremiah prophesied about the coming of Jesus Christ over 600 years before His birth. We also discussed the difference about "wishing" for something versus having "hope." How blessed we are to serve a God who fullfills His promises, allowing us to be a people of Hope. I asked the Students to journal this week about something they are HOPING for (not wishing for) this Christmas!
Ethan opend the class in a loving prayer. Thank you, Ethan!
I credited the Students for completing their vocabulary homework and then we began a review of Chapter 27-29 which includes 2 videos and 2 experiments on circular motion, centripetal force, and angular momentum. One of the experiments took us outside so we could observe for ourselves how water will stay in a cup even when being swung in a circular motion. The Students really loved this one! Ask them about it.
Bea presented her Egg Drop invention. Great job, Bea!
Collected last week's homework and reviewed this week's homework. Dismissed class for our 10min recess.
