3.7.23
Hello 5th/6th Grade BHA Families,
We had a full day of learning which included blasting legos from a catapult, touring the top 10 National Parks in the US, competing in a friendly US History quiz game, and accumulating 30 additional minutes for this year's Read-A-Thon. The day flew by and ended on a pizza high, thanks to the Bauzon-Bush family!
I sure hope everyone walked away with full bellies and inspired hearts!
Blessings,
Mrs. AyalaHA FYI

Opened class with this Lent Devotional after reading Luke 21:1-4 and discussing the widow's sacrifical giving. Our highlight verse today was, "Give, and it will be given to you," (Luke 6:38). I challenged the Students to think about ways that they could give sacrifically this week, whether that's money or time, to worthy causes within their church or community. Jackson P. gratefully opened the class in prayer.
Students studied Unit 2 for 5min prior to breaking up into table groups for a table quiz.
We then quickly reviewed chapters 15 + 16 , since we didn't get a chance to do that last week. Addison shared her write-up on her spacecraft of the future.
Started Unit 3, Military Inventions which included Chapter 17 + 18. We did a super fun experiment on Catapults where the Students fired a small lego piece to a bullseye. Ask them about it! We also watched a video on the rifle barrel and discussed it's accuracy, relating it to throwing a football or base/softball. The Students found this quite interesting as well!
Reviewed the Spring Science Project options.
Dismissed class for recess.
