12.13.22
Hello 5th/6th Grade BHA Families,
Today we lit our 3rd and 4th Advent Candles of JOY and LOVE, and celebrated the birth of Jesus with a Gift Exchange and Sweet Treats party. We also watched a few Christmas movies before heading to the Sanctuary for Pajama Day Spirit Rally and a private viewing of this year's Christmas performance.
I still can't believe we are already breaking for the holidays, but here we are. Families, I pray that this Christmas break is filled with HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE and that you each feel the arms of the Father wrapped around you in a special, divine way. Wishing you an amazing holiday and healthy New Year! See you in 2023.
Blessings,
Mrs. Ayala

Today was our 3rd week in our month long devotional series on Advent which included lighting the third candle of Advent, the candle of JOY. We read Hebrews 12:1-3, focusing on v. 2 "Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." We talked about the difference between joy and happiness, that happiness is an emotion that comes and goes, but joy comes from the Lord and is always with us, like Him. We know we can have joy in anything we face on earth because our God came to earth as a newborn babe, lived a humble life, and died the worst death possible on the cross so that we can be reconcilied to the Father. And doing this brought Him great joy.
Opened the class in prayer, including a blessing over our food.
We did our awesome Gift Exchange & Christmas Party as we listened to Christmas music. Everyone was so generous with their gift giving. The Students had so much fun!!! Thank you so much for your kindess with one another and with me. I am overwhelmed by all the gifts you have blessed me with! I love to save my gifts until Christmas so will open them all then.
Prayed over the Peforming Arts Students, that they would have an amazing time on stage and that there would be at least one BHA Student in the audience who woulc come to know the Lord because of the performance.

We finished our Advent devotion with the lighting of the 4th candle, LOVE. We read John 3:16, the ultimate defintion of love, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." We talked abpout Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and the understanding that if He hadn't done this for us, and then resurrected from the dead 3 days later, then there would be no reason to celebrate His birth and their would be no Christmas. I then gave an invitation to the Students that if they didn't know Him or had ever surrendered to Him, that they would do that today.
We continued with our Christmas Party with a viewing of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" as well as "The Snoopy Show: The Gif of Giving"
