Hello 5th/6th Grade BHA Families,
What a fun, jam-packed day! It was awesome to see everyone's creative costumes today. I loved their Spirit! Hopefully they all had a great time at the Spirit Rally and also enjoyed the little party we had at the end of the day where we enjoyed some tasty treats and got the opportunity to chit chat with friends.
Please see below for more detail on what we did in each class period as well as Branches Homeschool Academy announcements.

Have a wonderful week, Families. I look forward to seeing everyone again next week.
Blessings,

Today's devotion was Ephesians 2:1-10 with our highlight verse being, "For it is by grace you are saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast ," Ephesians 2:8-9. We talked about how great a gift grace is and how nothing we do could ever earn our salvation. Jesus died on the cross willingly so that we could be washed of our sins and live eternally with the Father. I asked the Students to think about this and to write in their bible journal this week all the ways God has shown them grace, particularly through those around them. Please discuss this bible verse with them and ask them their thoughts!
Addison joyfully opened the class in prayer.
I announce last week's Table Quiz winners. Congratulations Ethan, Israel, and Bella R! Great work!!!! (NOTE: We will be doing another Table Quiz next week. You might want to review the last few chapters)
We talked a little bit more about las week's Speed & Velocity experiment so they could better understand.
I walked around and credited everyone who did this week's vocabulary homework.
Jumped into Chapters 19 & 20 which included a homework review and an experiment where we measured acceleration using planks of wood, toy cars, a stop watch, and a tape measure. They always have a good time working together in a group! It's fun to witness.
Sebastien, Bella R, Addison and Jacks each presented their Theory of Relativity poster after we discussed what life would be like if we were to travel at the speed of light (we'd be younger, but heavier!) They did an excellent job and which each be rewarded an additional 5 points in their bank books! We also talked a little bit about Albert Einstein and what he meant when he said, "Try not to become a man of success but rather a man of value." Ask your Student their thoughts on this quote!
Collected last week's homework and reviewed this week's homework. Dismissed class for our 10min recess.

Using the Story Sequence Chart questions, write a KWO of the “Daedalus and Icarus” myth on page 61. Remember, you will choose key words by asking questions about the story, not by taking key words from each sentence.

Use one to three key words from the final sentence of the third paragraph to create a catchy title. You can change your last sentence if you need better key words. Follow the title rule.
Check off each item on the checklist as you complete it.
Turn in your rough draft to your editor (ie parent / homeschool teacher) with the completed checklist attached
Complete Day 4, p. 46
